Sometimes I think my mother could make anything. We had the best hopscotch chalk in the neighborhood, by a long shot. We would play hopscotch for hours. When I got older and had my own children, I dug out the recipe. It sure beats the heck out of paying for it at the stores.
Sidewalk Chalk

Plaster of Paris
- Water
- Food coloring
- Cardboard toilet paper tubes
Mix two quarts of Plaster of Paris with one quart water.
Divide it into however many different colors of chalk that you want.
Mix in the food coloring.
Pour it into toilet paper tubes.
Let it dry completely then peel the tubes away.
