Georgia Tax Free Shopping Information

Shop and Save During Tax Free Days in Georgia


The tax-free shopping days in Georgia are scheduled for August 9-10, 2013. Shoppers can save on school supplies, clothing and computers during the event.

Tax Exempt Items:

  • General school supplies to be used in the classroom or in classroom-related activities with a selling price of $20 or less per item.

  • Clothing (including footwear) with a sales price of $100 or less per item. The exemption excludes clothing accessories such as jewelry, handbags, umbrellas, eyewear, watches, and watchbands.

  • Computers and computer-related accessories, with the selling price of $1,000 or less. The exemption excludes cellular devices, furniture, and and computer- related accessories designed for recreational use.
There is also a tax-free weekend on purchases of up to $1,500 on energy-related products scheduled for October 4-6, 2013.
