Professional Organizers Get Year-Round Discounts

When times get tough for retailers, retailers become more innovative with reaching out to their loyal customers for sales. The Container Store is a good example of right-on target marketing. The Container Store, which sells products designed to help people organize their homes and offices, is offering members of the National Association of Professional Organizers a year-round discount.

According to The Dallas Morning News, any of the 4,200 members of the NAPO, will receive 10 percent off on all of the Container Store products, plus 20 percent off on all of its Elfa products which are mostly shelves and drawer systems.

For those who belong to the association, the savings the discounts will generate may be substantial. Professional organizers generally earn between $60 to $160 an hour and the larger professional organizers can spend over $10,000 a month at the Container Store. By reaching out to this group, the Container Store is securing its relationship to its loyal customers through rewards.

Not All Customers Are The Same

The trend for retailers to seek out and reward its target customers is on the rise. This has been seen in the past with credit card holders of specific stores such as department or chain stores. Many times promotional discount offers will be included in the monthly bills. In other words, if you use your credit card, you may see a coupon offer. If you do not have a credit card or you do not use it, you may not get the private offer.

As consumers tighten their belts, many retailers may follow suit by focusing on rewarding those customers who they consider to be their bread and butter.
