Nine West Outlet Shoes - The Real Deal?

It has become more common for designer brands that have branched into the outlet market to have products that are made or bought specifically for the outlet stores. Some companies are transparent about this practice such as the Gap which openly states that Gap (this includes Banana Republic and Old Navy) outlet merchandise is made for the outlet stores and is not sold in the retail stores.

Other companies are not as transparent. For example, I have not been able to locate any company verification that the Nine West Outlet merchandise is made-for-outlet product or not. However, based the merchandise that I have seen at Nine West Outlet stores, I suspect that most of it is made for the outlet stores.

If that is true, it does not mean that Nine West Outlet shoes are not good quality. What it could mean is that merchandise may have been made with less costly embellishments, or with less expensive man-made materials rather than leather, or that the construction is of less quality (less stitching etc.) compared to the Nine West retail merchandise.

Why Made for Outlet Can Be a Good Thing

Okay, so let's say there is a good chance that Nine West Outlet shoes have never seen the inside of a retail store and have been made just for outlets. The company still has a reputation to stand behind, so the merchandise is not junk. Customers get to buy shoes designed and styled in conjunction with the Nine West brand, and the prices are much more affordable than what you could find in the retail stores, most of the time.

There are times when the retail stores will have the better prices, for example, at the end-of-season sales. If you watch the sales you could come out better by buying the top quality products from the retail stores, for maybe a few more dollars than the outlet product. It all depends on what is available and at what price.

The Best Time to Buy at Nine West Outlet Stores

During most holidays the big outlet malls will promote special sales, for example they will have sidewalk sales going on or Friends & Family sales events. This is a great time to hit the Nine West Outlet stores to grab the cheapest prices.

Also, during Black Friday sales most of the outlet stores, including Nine West, promote extra discounts off their entire inventory. This usually includes extra savings on even the sale products. Nine West Outlet stores seems to be running a Buy-One-Get-One 50% off promotion almost all year, so unless it beats that, there is no rush to buy.
