2008 Tax Free Shopping Holidays

Tax Free Shopping Holidays is a Great Time to Shop and Save

By Donna L Montaldo, About.com

In conjunction with back-to-school shopping, several states are allowing tax-free shopping days on school related items such as clothing, computers and general school supplies. It is a great opportunity to save a lot of money on items you would normally spend just on sales tax. But with every passing year, the rules have become a bit more complicated with more defined lists of what is and what is not considered a tax-exempt item. Below are state's offering tax-free shopping days, including lists of tax-free and taxable items and where you can find additional information. Click on the name of your state for complete details of items covered and up to how much is permitted to qualify for tax-free shopping.
