Many of the best deals for local and online retail, restaurants and services are the websites that offer daily steals, flash sales and hourly rock-bottom prices. Some of the daily deals sites look like they are offering the same products, but when you compare them side-to-side, you quickly realize that there is little to no duplication of the actual deals that you will find. The most popular daily deal sites are Groupon and Living Social, but there are many other sites that are equally useful for serious deal hunters, including proper shopping. We have listed some of our favorites below.

  • 1Sale
1Sale began by offering one deal per day, but has since branched out to offering several deals per day in different categories. Serious deal hunters keep an eye on the countdown located on the top-right of the page which displays when the next new deal will appear live on the site. For the more relaxed deal hunters, there is a category of hot deals that are not as time-sensitive as the daily deals, which can sell out fast.
  • CoupRecoup
CoupRecoup is a second-hand Daily Deal site where you can buy or sell Groupon and LivingSocial deals that you may have missed and also sell the deals that you bought, but cannot use. The same is true for other deals sites like Groupon, but the main focus seems to be on the top sites with daily local deals.
  • Google Offers
Great for local residents and travelers alike, Google Offers features local restaurants, retailers, and entertainment, and service deals locally and from brand-name stores. Included is the option that shoppers can view the location of the business on Google Maps.
  • Meh
Meh has grown in popularity because of its direct selling approach and its entertaining (and long) product descriptions. Offering a new deal at midnight EST, shoppers can expect to find deep discounts on an array of different items. The product descriptions are funny and deeply saturated with sarcasm, especially when a product is cheap or just plain useless. Expect real reviews from the website's writers.
  • Steals.com
The home-grown, popular mom site offers four "Steal" sites for Baby, Kid, Scrapbooking and Mom. Each category has two good deals each day, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. PST.
  • TravelZoo Local Deals
TravelZoo made its name by offering travel deals, but it also has a local deals section that does a good job of putting together the local restaurant, retail, and entertainment deals. Some of the prices are great, some are fair, but it is worth it to sift through the list to snag a good deal.
  • Woot
Woot is a fun daily deals site that features one deal a day and runs other time-sensitive deals from various categories like tech, home, kids, sports, and wine. Another fun feature is when they are having a Woot-off, featuring one deal after another for an undefined amount of time. The deals are dirt cheap and go amazingly fast.

Before You Buy, Check the Terms and Conditions

Before purchasing any online deal, always check out the terms and conditions of that particular deal. It can be a game changer, depending on the many possible conditions governing each deal. Some deals may have short expiration dates that can easily expire before you have a chance to use them. Refunds on a deal might be advertised, but is it a full monetary refund or a credit that you may or may not be able to use? The real deal is often found only by taking the time to read the terms and conditions so that you know what you are buying.
