Dealing with dry, raw hands is a common complaint for many of us during the cold winter months. When the temperatures were running in the high 20s in Pittsburgh, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette took a particularly close interest in finding the best hand cream to help relieve dehydrated hands.

They took the question to the staff and asked for volunteers to rate six popular hand creams, which advertise ingredients designed to heal and hydrate hands.

The volunteers, unaware of the prices, tested and rated the moisturizer hand creams by applying them for two days, once in the morning and once at bedtime.

The Results

The volunteers selected Clarins Hand & Nail Treatment Cream ($29) as their favorite of the six creams with Olay Body Quench Therapy Hand Cream ($6.99) as a close second. To see all six products tested and comments about each one from the volunteers, visit the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette website.

Just as I go to bed, apply the Made from Earth Lavender Calm Lotion to my hands and feet. It is just bliss.

Lavender is known for its ability to promote relaxation. I keep the Made from Earth bottle next to my bed for an evening treat. This helps to nourish your hands and feet while you sleep.

The Lavender Calm Lotion contains certified organic floral water and it retains all the original energetic and therapeutic qualities of the original plant. This is the key ingredient in the Made from Earth skincare Line that is simply delicious.

Contains emollient rich moisturizers, plant oils and vitamins to nourish your skin.

The scent is like a walk through a lavender field and the essential oils might even sweeten your dreams. I prefer to purchase online (www.madefromearth.com) – because you save money – when compared to the price at Whole Foods – even with the shipping!
