Safeway Now Offers Digital Coupons
Shoppers of Safeway stores will now have the additional convenience of accessing coupons through their computers and mobile phones.Safeway and digital coupon publisher Cellfire Inc., announced the new service which is available to shoppers at more than 1,500 Safeway stores nationwide under the banners of Vons, Pavilions, Randalls, Tom Thumb, Dominick's, Genuardi's and Safeway.
To use the coupon service, shoppers can register at Cellfire or through the coupon section at Safeway.com. The coupons selected are immediately loaded to the grocery savings card and applied automatically to the appropriate items in the shopping basket at checkout. The discounts are also shown directly on register receipts.
"Shoppers are spending more and more time online and we see electronic coupons loaded to their shopper card as a way to better serve our customers," said Michelle Marian, Vice President Interactive Marketing, Safeway Inc. "As Safeway launches the new couponLink program, we're excited to partner with Cellfire to offer our customers a unique way to save at our stores and online. Also, our customers who shop online at Safeway.com can now use the digital coupons, which are a new and exciting option for them."
Shoppers access the Cellfire digital coupon service through an easy-to-use application that resides on their cell phone, through a mobile Web browser or from any computer. New offers are added frequently and users can access the Cellfire service at their convenience. Coupons are displayed in an organized manner, allowing customers to navigate through coupons by category and select the offers they want to use.
Cellfire is a free service, although standard data or usage charges may apply for mobile usage depending on the carrier or data plan.
