Thumbs Down on Macy's Printable Coupon
On first glace the coupon looks like a great deal. I filled my printer with paper and I was ready to hit print. But then I saw the list of exclusions and I decided this coupon may have made bargain hunter history, because for me it simply isn't worth the printer ink.
Coupon Offer
The coupon offer is valid for one-time use for $10 off a regular, sale or clearance-priced purchase of $25 or more on June 19 or 20 until 1 p.m.
However, the list of exclusions is so long that I think it may have been easier for Macy's to list what products you can use it on, rather than what you can't use it on.
This is happening more often with department stores coupons and it can be quite confusing to shoppers. I have one message for Macy's (a store I happen to adore) - please do not issue coupons with so many exclusions. There must be a better way.
If after you read the list below you are still interested in printing the coupon, you can find it here.

Coupons like this just make the merchant look cheap and “fine printy”.
I think the store really doesn’t want your business if they make it that complicated.
That is annoying! The only thing worse is to go in and find out the five items that the coupon are good for are SOLD OUT!
Macy’s has done itself the disservice of having coupons available every weekend and special occasion (holidays, etc.), to the point that I won’t buy anything at Macy’s unless I have a coupon. From a retail perspective, the company has created an expectation in me (the consumer) that if I just wait another day or two, I can spend less money for the item(s) I want. Macy’s should save itself the expense of newspaper ads and simply discount everything by, say, 15 or 20% – just like the coupons.
Thank God I don’t shop there anymore.
it still looked good to me until I read the last bit of fine print. the item i want to buy is not a part of the long list of things that i wouldn’t be able to buy with it, and i can buy it in my state, just not in my area. how irritating!
Never mind the list of excluded items, look at the Valid stores… MA not included! that stinks!
Its no different from any of their other coupons they put in the paper–those are always excluded. Its a gimmick that gets you in the door. But like the other commenter, I won’t go to Macy’s without a coupon anymore, because they’re so readily available. Macy’s used to be a status brand–not Saks, but not big box retail either. But now they’re becoming known for being a ‘discount’ department store. I know times are tough but I’m not sure that’s a road they really want to travel–its very hard to go back to upscale and high end items once you’ve been labeled discount!
Macy’s give your customers a REAL COUPON! Macy’s your customer do know how to read ALL the exclusions. I won’t be shopping at Macys.
is there coupons still work?
