Fake Gas Coupons for Sale Online

Tuesday May 22, 2007
As gas prices rise, so do the offers enticing people to buy gas coupons online. Shoppers of online auction sites such as eBay.com, can find gas coupons clipped from newspapers, rewards-programs and gas-card gift cards, up on the auction block at substantially lower prices than the face value of the coupon. However, there is no guarantee that the coupons are legitimate and many buyers who have celebrated being the winning bidder have ended up losing their money.

The problems with the coupons include:

  • The coupons are nontransferable, meaning it cannot be redeemed by anyone other than the person whose name is on the coupon.
  • The coupons are fake.
  • Local branches of national gas companies do not have to guarantee coupon redemption.
Following these tips will be the best "coupon" for cutting the cost of gas.

How to Really Save Money at the Gas Pump >

With gas prices continuing to increase and the summer travel season around the corner, it is becoming more difficult to save money at the gas pump, but there are steps that can be taken that will save on gasoline costs. The auto parts company AutoZone has released some tips that can help preserve fuel and reduce the costs of driving.

Here are some tips that can save you money:

  • Replace your "forgotten filters" - The fuel filter, PCV valve and breather filter should all be replaced once a year or every 12,000 miles. This can help improve your gas mileage by up to 15 percent.

  • Replace your faulty oxygen sensors - Replacing a faulty oxygen sensor can save you up to six trips to the gas pump a year.

  • Keep your tires properly inflated - Tires that are under-inflated run hotter and waste gas.

  • Don't use premium fuel if not required - Using the wrong gas can reduce your fuel economy.

  • Replace your gas cap and consider one with a lock - A faulty seal can waste $50 in gas a year due to evaporation.

  • Avoid excessive idling - Sitting idle gets zero miles per gallon! Letting your vehicle warm up for a minute or two is sufficient, especially in summer.

  • Observe the speed limit - Gas mileage decreases rapidly at speeds above 60 miles per hour.

  • Combine errands into one trip - This will save you gas and time.

  • Avoid carrying unneeded heavy items - An extra 100 pounds in your car or truck can cut fuel efficiency by one or two percent.

  • Don't be an aggressive driver - Aggressive driving can lower gas mileage by as much as 33 percent on the highway and 5 percent on city streets.

(1) Willie McCraney says:

Particularly during Summer months, fill up on gas early in the morning. Being very volative, gasoline expands in the heat of the day. Overnight, the gasoline tanks in the ground cool down; gasoline contracts, thus you pump more into your auto early, before the sun heats the tanks for the day.

There are gas vouchers that are real. They cannot be sold, they must be given away by businesses as incentives to get more customers in the door in our sluggish economy and they make a very good advertising mechanism for struggling businesses. So first rule about gas vouchers or coupons is if they’re for sale, there probably fake. Usually they are only good for a $25 reimbursement every month. So if you get a $100 voucher you can save $25 over the next 4 months on gas, which is something you will buy anyway.
